Today Panmure Bridge School had a special assembly. We were lucky to have Rachel announce the Summer/Winter Learning Journey for 2017-2018. It was for the 5 SLJ.

this is our clean up crew work for this we got two pieces of paper the one with the dog then one with instructions and the we had to use the ladder rule and that was confusing me.

this is a maths game because we have to count how many step the bunny has to take to cover all the purple block to make them grass blocks.

last week Friday we had hazel from the university of Auckland and she came with new that they have set up the summer learning journey and that is great because if you come 1 2 3 you win a prize and they are nice prizes because last team we had 3 winner and they got like i phones tablets and PC witch i think is really nice of them to let people have stuff like that.

PE-Mr Moyes

Friday 1 of December after tech we had been split into 3 groups and the there groups were social science , PE and robotics i was in PE with Mr Moyes and we played 3 games called infinity tag, Samoan baseball and bench ball my Favourite game to play was beach ball because my team won  by MIA because she scored our last point she shot from half way and got it in we won 3 - 1 then we played infinity tag witch was a free fr all and i was not good at that game because i got down 6 people and i had to get down like 10 times witch for me was annoying but the game was fun our last game was Samoa baseball and was fun because when we hit the ball we had to run all the way across and had to run back between the yellow cones

Tech

Friday the 1 of the December we went to tech and i made chocolate log and then the icing was great and the cream was nice but all the sponge had to much coco powder. Before that project we had digital tech and we were on scratch and we were making games that were there for fun and i found it existing. Our first project i found boring because we were on this app where we were creating  random thing like fidget spinners , anamiles it was ok but i think that they look great

Film Festival

Wednesday the 8.11.17

we went to the 10 year Film Festival and we had so much fun first when we got there we were waiting for 10 minutes and then we got in we had seen half of the movie and then after we stayed in and waited for the next one and that was great we saw one and it was called sugar rap, our school - Tamaki primary and these were my favorite. after we got back to school we started to commenting on there blogs about witch one we liked and what they might improve next time and a little of what we what more to see and i think giving and receiving is a nice thing to do because you can help them on there work and they can help you on your work.

Badminton

To day at school we had badminton and we were learning back hand and throw, hit and catch it was fun because my partner and I we doing back hand rallies and it was unfortunate because we had failed lost and we were bad at serving.

Zebras - Zane

Today I had fun learning about zebras and what they eat were they live what types of zebras and that most of them like to live in savanna or places with long grass.There are three types of zebras one is called mountain zebras and grey zebras then the plain zebras.

today i work with Tiava and Mataio we did this on our fractions and this was fun because we work and we had fun but it toke us a wile and this is explaining what we did on our fractions.

Election is just this Saturday. This week LS2 were learning about Elections. There were three Election Challenges for us to do. The first Election Chellenge was called Political Party. Term 3 Dance Production

On Wednesday and to day at 6.00 we are doing our Production and i am in 2 of them i am in kapa haka and i see red it is so much fun to dance on the stage with some friends and do the haka and danced to i see red witch i think was hard because i forgot some of the actions.

kiwi can

Today LS2 went to Kiwi Can. During Kiwi Can we played three games which was Hand Soccer, 10 down and Objects. In Hand Soccer we were first splited into two groups. We each given numbers from 1 to 13. Mr Malo had to call out two numbers and those two numbers had to try and get a goal between the two cones with their hand.

For our last election task we had to create a kahoot quiz with at least 10 question based on the elections. Thank you to Fraidon group for sharing their kahoot with LS2. One of the questions we had to answer was who is the leader for the Labour party. I think learning about elections is amazing and enjoyable.

Cross Country

last week at Cross Country we had to run 3.5 k and that was 5 laps around the small part of Dunkirk and we started to run and not long after we all slowed down and i ended coming around last but it was fun and then we watch all the little kid go and they were going so fast but i came 3 to last but i was happy that i finished it i had lots of fun doing it and that what counts.

Print Advertisment

To day we were doing Print Advertisment and it was fun because we had to 

find a photo of a add and then we had to label all of the things like the logo 

and the price and it was fun and hard because it toke me a wile to find out thr 

nutrition.

Scale Drawing

This term we have been focusing on Scale Drawing. We have been learning how to draw a butterfly using a grid. Scale Drawing is when you print a picture you want (for example a dog) and enlarge it by drawing the picture a bit bigger. First before drawing our picture we had to draw a grid over our printed picture and then do the same to our bigger paper but twice the size. During this term of learning Scale Drawing we used ratio to find the correct spaces of our picture.

What Is A Coalition?

Today LS2 was discussing about the election on Saturday. The problem with the election is that Labour and National do not have enough sets so they are waiting for the New Zealand first (Winston Peters). Tiava, Ofa, Mataio and I learnt what a coalition is. My group learnt that a coalition is when the little group of parties is aligned with the bigger parties to gain more seats for them to become the Prime Minister. We also learnt who our MP is for our local area.

Today my class had so much fun we got to read our books that we pick out on Tamika over drive and they have so many fun books and to day is e book day #e-book-love go and cheek them out.

This is a story on a kid when his mum was 16 he was born she was a virgin when he was born and around the middle it say that they are god but there is one brother and that brother wanted to be king because the there about one did like the place and all of it is a good book and i rate it a 8/10 it was amazing because we had lots of fun reading and it was so awkward to be able to hear nothing.

Why it's great to be me

Its Great to be me Because i like to do thing like play games and sports i like playing sports because i love being active and getting our there and like to try and stay active and fit and there word are not  just about me I had some friends work with me to do this and we made a whole bunch of word that we could do this and i think that we done an amazing job .

Tech

Today at Tech my group and I went into food tech and it was amazing Today we made Oreo milkshakes and we started off with cutting out the withe piece in the middle of the Oreo and then we had to smash them that was lyric job and Carl had to get 2 cups of milk and 2 teaspoon of chocolate sauce and one cup of ice cream and then we move on to the mixing when we had to grab a blender and then put all of our ingredients in and then mix them all together and then there was the finishing touch we got to add Oreo to the top and sprinkles as well and our tech work at Tamaki college and her name is Mrs Heka.

Today I had so much fun doing the hexaflexagon we had to start off with a piece of paper witch had the instruction on the and we coloured each number the same and the we had to cut them out and the fold the piece of paper in complicated ways then we finished them.

Today for maths my whole group did this game I really enjoyed it was called Ordering Fractions game and we had to figure out what was the highest fraction and the lowest one.

Maui and the Sun

Today Christopher and I work together and we made a storyboard that.com about the Maui and the sun because we are learning about Maori myths and legends. This was a fun activity because there were a lot of backdrops and character and we had only three block that we could work in. It was a bit hard for me because I had to crop all the back drops so they could bring back the part when Maui was hitting the sun. To make the sun go slower so they would have enough time for day and night.

Yesterday my reading group showed Miss Apelu from Tamaki College how we find the main ideas in our learning. In LS2 we use the negotiating game that Mrs Anderson taught us to do this. First we write down the ideas we think are the main points, then we have a learning conversation together to share our thinking and make the choice together. Miss Apelu thought we did a good job!

We had a learning conversation about a book we read. Our group had to write a summary about the facts. to do this we had to negotiate to decide the 20 most important words. Then we chose the 6 most important words after that we used those 6 word in sentences to summaries the information.

This week is Samoan language week and I worked with Mataio and it was not easy because it was different and it was no't good because this is cricket but in Samoa the have a different name they is called cricket  kilikiti and it was a lot of fun researching this because there is a video and it was funny because there were some kids that were dancing and some were clapping it is a really good sport because there are lots of kids were having fun

Worm Farms

Worm farm are very nice because they have worn and they eat food scraps and poop compost that can help make the plants grow  you can make a worm farm easily you just need wood and dirt worms and food.

How to make a  worm farm it as easy as cake and what you need is some wood nails and dirt and then you grab some wood and you put it so it is like a triangle on the conners and you have to nails on the corners and  have it so you can move the wood around and you can do the same thing and then you put them together and it should make a square and then you hammer in the corners and the you do that so there is three and you stake them up and if you can put it near a fence and you can hammer some nails into the fence and you add some dirt and then you can put some worms in there now and then when you eat your food and you have the peal or the cror you can put it in there and it will have compost.

When you have a worm farm you need to make sure that you do the right thing and reduce reuse and  recycle the 3 R and you need to make sure that the worm farm stays clean and make sure that the worm have  eaten all the food and you need to clean the compost  out and you have some compost of you4r own and it can help plant grow

Schools can use compost to help their plant grow and some of the school have plants that they need and I pretty shur that our school has one behind the hall and it is going good and then you can have a apartment so you can grab some and use it to help some dead plant grow.

Compost that can help make the plants grow  you can make a worm farm easily you just need wood and dirt worms and food.Worm farm are very nice because they have worn and they eat food scraps and poop

Today I worked together with AJ to create a DLO about the problem solving question we had this week. We both found this question really hard at first but then we figured out how to work out the problem. To solve this problem we used our fraction skills.

Zane - making connections

Today for reading we read a book called a Tour Like No Other. It was a very interesting book. it was talking about when  the All Blacks played South Africa. There was a problem because the South African didn't allow the Maori's to play so there was a lot of protesting. There were two protesters that stole a plane and  doped flour bombs and flares and did you know one of the flour bombs doped on a player. But after that they were  jailed for months.

Yesterday my class and went to the hall and it was so fun we meat the man. His name was Charles and he was fun to hang around and it was a lot of fun and our first activity was we had a boat and there were 6 people and our activate was to find how many times the boat had to cross and it was 9 times the activity was called off the island.

Reduce Reuse Recycle

Today I created this poster about what I think Reduce Reuse Recycle means. I had to check 3 sites for the same information and if it was the same I could use it. I think reduce means to use less of one thing, reuse means to use something more than once, and recycle means to use something again in a different way.
